CBD medical drugs, how to be better absorbed?

While there is still a lack of conclusive evidence for a large number of putative CBD medical drugs, a non-psychoactive compound found in cannabis, researchers are working to study the effects of cannabinoids on factors ranging from heroin addiction to Parkinson’s trembling.

If you are not familiar with CBD medical drugs and their use cases first please check what is CBD and its benefits.

At present, CBD has been considered to have a therapeutic effect on certain brain diseases, because it can reduce inflammation and play the role of antioxidants, however, CBD is difficult to absorb when taken orally.
For example, oral CBD oil results in plasma and tissue bioavailability as low as 6%.

Sublingual administration or the use of various inhalation methods may lead to higher absorption levels, but there are still huge inconsistencies in bioavailability between people. The dosing issue is a special issue for researchers trying to investigate potential therapeutic uses of CBD, especially for those exploring the effects of the compound on the brain.

To solve this problem, Australian scientists produced CBD microcapsules that encapsulate this compound in a gel. The researchers combined the new capsule with deoxycholic acid capsules (DCA), which increase body absorption, to measure CBD levels in the blood and brain of mice after 20 minutes, 1 hour, and 3 hours, respectively.

The results showed that compared with unencapsulated CBD oil, the new method increased the content of CBD in the blood by an average of 47%, and the content of CBD in the brain by an average of 25%.

In the new study, the researchers concluded that the potential effect of DCA on a sharp decline in CBD concentration in the brain is an interesting finding that requires further research. At the same time, bile acids may promote cell absorption and removal of lipoproteins, however, the effect of bile acids (such as DCA) on tissue removal or lipophilic drugs (such as CBD) has not been determined.

Of course, more needs to be done to unravel the new findings outlined in this new study, and trials need to be conducted to explore how these methods of administration affect the human absorption of CBD. However, the overall findings are convincing, with short-term results pointing out that the microcapsule/DCA method leads to a 300% increase in CBD concentration in the brain, suggesting that the method may be a fast and effective way to get cannabinoids into the brain.
